Francisco Fernandez & Gunjan Bhardwaj Speak to the MVCA at our Summer Cocktail on September 3rd 2021

During our Summer Cocktail on Friday, September 3rd, 2021, at Club 39, we were delighted to welcome two exceptional guest speakers:

  • Francisco Fernandez, one of the most successful European entrepreneurs with several successful exits - notably the last one with Avaloq which he sold to NEC for over 2.3 Bn USD. He holds master’s degrees in Economics and Software Engineering from prestigious ETH Zurich. He is a hands-on investor who aims to change industries by creating hyper-scalable business platforms based on strong software foundations, using Cloud, AI, Big-Data, Blockchain, and other technologies. He also strives to create new asset classes making unbanked assets bankable through Tokenization (Crypto-Assets), bringing liquidity and transparency to this 200 Tn USD opportunity. He has significant investments in platforms related to Food, Drug Discovery, Real Estate, Art, Collectible Cars, eSports, Music IP, FinTech, and Clean Energy. Francisco will talk about the disruptive effect technology can have on asset classes.

  • Gunjan Bhardwaj, Founder & CEO at Innoplexus AG and member of various AI Thinktanks as well as a Not for Profit focused on Sustainability. He is an adjunct professor at Frankfurt School of Finance and management and Pforzheim University, Germany. He is an Ex BCG, EY who studied at IIT Bombay, MIT, Pforzheim University and European Business School. He has 18+ patents related to AI & Blockchain. He published 2 books in Branding and Drug Discovery respectively as well as a number of publications in Harvard Business Review, Journal of Service Research, MIT Sloan Review etc. He received several awards including Capital - 40 under 40 award for Young Elite Award, Handelsblatt – BCG “Future Leaders of the new Reality“ and Top 30 “Thought Leader“ Award, Germany. Gunjan will talk about his latest project Oncocoin, an ecosystem that revolutionizes cancer patients’ participation in their treatment journey, and drives cancer research.

The topics of disruptive technologies & healthcare were discussed and were followed by a Q&A hosted by Pravin Khatau, Secretary of the Board.

The event took place on the terrasse of Club 39 and complied with the best health & safety measures against Covid-19.
